Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 2026-08-01 · Version: 1.0
These Terms govern your use of id.gohalal.net. Plain-English summary up front: be a real person, don't be abusive, the cards you publish are public, and if there's a dispute we'll try to sort it informally first. The full text follows.
1. Introduction
id.gohalal.net (the "Service") is operated by HEXIOT SDN BHD ("HEXIOT", "we", "us"). By creating a card or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Definitions
- Account — the record we keep of an email address so you can manage your cards.
- Card — the public digital business card (the page
at
/c/your-id) generated from data you enter. - Visitor — any person who opens a public card.
3. Acknowledgement (clickwrap)
By ticking the "I agree to the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy" box on the create-card page and clicking "Publish", you accept these Terms and confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You own the data on the card, or you have the person's permission to publish it (see § 6).
- You understand the published card will be publicly visible to anyone with the link or QR code.
4. User accounts
The Service is accountless for card creation — you provide an email and
we send you a manage link. To use the dashboard
(/my/cards) you log in with a one-time link sent by
email. The link expires in 15 minutes and can only be used once.
Keep your manage links confidential; whoever has them can edit or
delete the card.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Publish personal data about another person without their permission.
- Use the Service for spam, phishing, harassment, or illegal activity.
- Attempt to disrupt the Service or circumvent rate limits.
- Use the Service to misrepresent your identity.
6. Content & your authority to publish
You retain ownership of the content you publish on a card. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, render, and serve that card to the public at the URL you were given — for as long as the card is active.
If you publish information about a third party (for example, a phone number or photo that is not yours), you confirm that you have the legal right to do so. We may, at our discretion, take down a card or edit the offending fields in response to a verified complaint.
7. Copyright policy (DMCA-style takedown)
If you believe material on a card infringes your copyright, email privacy@gohalal.net with the card URL, a description of the work, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We will action valid requests promptly.
8. Intellectual property
The Service itself — its code, design, logo, and brand — is owned by us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you.
9. User feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
10. Links to other websites
A card may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any site we link to.
11. Termination
You may terminate at any time by deleting your cards (or your account). We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we are legally required to do so.
12. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim — or, if you have paid nothing, to MYR 100 (or its equivalent in your local currency at the time of the claim). In no event are we liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your publication of third-party data without permission, or your misuse of the Service.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. (Placeholder: confirm the governing jurisdiction — for Option B this defaults to "Indonesia".)
16. Disputes
If a dispute arises, please contact privacy@gohalal.net first and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If we cannot, the dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Malaysia, except where mandatory consumer protection laws give you the right to bring an action in your own country.
17. Severability and waiver
If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right does not waive it.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes bump the version above and require a fresh consent tick for new card creations. Existing cards are covered by the version they consented to unless we announce otherwise with at least 14 days' notice on this page.
